AZIMUT IS BACK AT THE GENOA INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW WITH TWO ITALIAN PREMIERES
Azimut chooses the Genoa International Boat Show – from September 21 to 26, 2023 – for the Italian premiere of two yachts: Magellano 60, a crossover designed for long cruises in close contact with nature, and the New Fly 72, with her sporty and refined soul.
Alongside these two new yachts, Azimut will be taking the new S7 to the Genoa International Boat Show and other models that showcase the brand’s fleet.
From September 21 to 26, 2023, Genoa is once again the capital of Italian yachting as it hosts its 63rd Boat Show, an expression of Made in Italy excellence and expertise at which Azimut will be presenting two new yachts to the Italian public.
The Genoa International Boat Show will see the Italian preview of the New Fly 72, with exterior design by Alberto Mancini and interiors by architect and designer Fabio Fantolino, making his debut in yacht design. Fantolino’s concept for the New Fly 72 reflects a desire to give this model a contemporary and elegant look. The style of the interiors spans from the exclusive atmosphere of the yachting world to the sophistication of contemporary design.
These two worlds meet in the design of the New Fly 72, conjuring up images inspired by 20th century Italian design masters and revisiting iconic motifs to define a unique style. This transversal design approach is also seen in the choice of materials and shapes, featuring wood accompanied by precious materials like bronze and high-gloss lacquer, paired with shapes that are both linear and soft.
The exterior design is by Alberto Mancini, whose work builds on the sporty DNA that has driven the evolution of Azimut yacht design. With the New Fly 72, Mancini’s stylistic idiom introduces new clean lines that further point up the sculptural tension running through the design of the Series.
Magellano 60 will also have her Italian premiere at the Genoa International Boat Show. The exterior design is by Ken Freivokh, a designer with a flair for bringing together the world of sailing and the more complex world of motor yachts. Magellano 60, a crossover for owners who love long cruises, is characterised by generous onboard spaces that never compromise the elegance of the yacht’s lines. The Main Deck flows naturally into the cockpit, turning the stern area into a terrace featuring a transparent parapet and creating an Infinity Terrace that overlooks the water and offers a cruising experience in total harmony with the sea and nature.
Magellano 60’s crossover identity is also apparent in its high-efficiency Dual Mode semi-planing hull, which makes it possible to cruise at low speeds in total comfort, but also to handle higher speeds by attenuating the impact of the waves and optimizing consumption and emissions. The Magellano 60 is also the model Azimut chose for the first voyages powered by HVOlution, the biofuel produced by Eni Sustainable Mobility with 100% renewable raw di materials*. The results of trials carried out by Azimut in summer 2023 were highly satisfactory in terms of compatibility and performance. Combining the Dual Mode hull with biofuel has reduced well-to-wake CO2 emissions by over 80% compared to a comparably sized yacht powered by fossil fuel.
Alongside the brand’s new yachts, at the Genoa International Boat Show Azimut will be exhibiting other models from the Fly, Atlantis and Magellano series.
