SUSTAINABILITY
With Seadeck, innovation and design come together to create the most technological and advanced yacht designed by Azimut until now. Natural, recycled or recyclable materials such as cork, Econyl and PET ,represent some of the pillars of the new Gentle Era undertaken by Azimut. Exterior and interior design elements communicate in a fluent environment, breaking down the barriers and creating a boat of timeless beauty, with a gentle essence. Seadeck is the world’s first family hybrid yacht series. This supremacy has been achieved thanks to careful research and product development, which have enabled the creation of a yacht series that is highly energy efficient, environmentally and fuel efficient, without renounce performance.
FUN ISLAND
A surprisingly spacious and versatile stern area introduces the new concept of the Fun Island, an unprecedented open-air lounge au fil de l’eau, designed to experience the large spaces in total freedom and comfort. The entire Main Deck is transformed into a large space that offers the possibility of interacting with everyone, even with those in the water, breaking down the last physical and social barrier. It is the real and symbolic space of «fun». The Fun Island is completed by two opening wings and an aft platform that reveals a large staircase that descents into the water.
Boundaries are broken down and life on board redefined, without obligations and restrictions. Thanks to the unique connection between cockpit and water and the openings in the stern, the spaces seem wider and the transition between inside and outside is smoother. The hull windows immerse themselves in the colouring of the broadside and emphasise the purity of the styling.
The design is quiet, peaceful, taking you to an oasis of peace. The keyword is gentleness. The interiors are characterised by timeless, enduring beauty, with neutral colours and simple finishes. The gentle, light, open-pored materials used for the boat’s interior give a feeling of relaxation and calm.
Cork, an ancient, Mediterranean material with its many properties, is used for the exterior flooring. Econyl, made from recycled nylon, is used for carpeting due to its softness.
Our advanced toolkit
The Seadeck 6, introduces the debut of an innovative system that allows both zero-emissions at anchor and cruising with the generator off while powering the main ob-board consumers, further reducing consumption. This system, called Mild Hybrid Zero Emission Hotel Mode, is based on a 42-kWh lithium battery pack and an alternator connected to one of the three engines. The zero-emission autonomy at anchor, depending on the weather conditions, can reach up to 4 hours during the day and 8 hours at night. During navigation, the generator can be kept off
with the main 220V consumers, such as the stabilizer and air conditioning, in operation for up to 8 hours.
The innovative naval architecture developed by the Azimut R&D Department in collaboration with NAMES is the most effective ever built by the Shipyard, made to maximize the efficiency of the Seadeck 6 at its most frequent cruising speeds. Compared with standard planning hulls, the hull of the Seadeck 6 is wider at the stern and more streamlined at the bow, allowing it to begin hydroplaning sooner, therefore reducing drag at lower speeds. This advanced solution broadens the speed range at which the Seadeck 6 can navigate at peak efficiency while ensuring a smooth, pleasant ride.
Azimut’s pioneering use of carbon fiber extends beyond pure performance. Azimut, in fact, has accrued experience in lightening its boats through the extensive use of this material, which is produced in-house by the Shipyard. Applying the
accumulated insights of the R&D Department to maximize the carbon fiber content, Azimut laminates 40% of the Seadeck 6’s surface in the high-performance lighter material – such as the deckhouse, roof, wings, bathing platform, and most of the main deck, from the saloon amidships to the aft, including the Fun Island – in order to optimize the weight of the boat and therefore contributing to fuel consumption and emissions reduction.
The Seadeck 6 can be equipped with 10 square meters solar panels installed on the deckhouse, resulting in a total power of 1410Wp. The energy generated by the solar panels contributes to charging the battery pack, lowering CO2 emissions even further.
Azimut also extends its research and implementation of more sustainable solutions to materials, introducing alternatives of natural origin, recycled or recyclable, chosen also for the advantages they offer in terms of performance. The Seadeck 6 introduces for the first time on board the MarineCork cork by Sace Components, used for the external decking in place of traditional teak. A 100% natural resource, which can be extracted several times without damaging the tree and which, in addition, stands out for being up to 40% lighter than teak, fire resistant and waterproof.
The quest to find sustainable alternatives penetrates the surface, arriving at the core of the yacht: for the first time, the 30% of the Seadeck 6’s structure is made of R-PET. R-PET has been used for the core of the bulkheads and for 75% of the internal deck, equivalent to approximately 15,000 plastic bottles recovered and reused to replace traditional PVC, guaranteeing the same efficiency and reducing the amount of virgin plastic used in the construction of the yacht.
Persistent investment in the research and implementation of advanced technologies and sustainable materials has allowed the Seadeck Series to be the shipyard’s first to obtain the RINA GREEN PLUS GOLD class certification for its environmental performance, even in its standard configuration.
